A boil water advisory has been issued in Aylmer that will affect nearly 7,000 residents.
The city of Gatineau issued the advisory on Monday afternoon after test results at the McConnell water reservoir showed a presence of bacteria.
The affected area includes Allumettières Boulevard to the south, Cook road to the north, Vanier Road to the west and east to the Ottawa River at Highway 148.

A cash infusion is on the way for three Ottawa-based environmental organizations, thanks to the Ontario government.
On May 22, a total of $570,000 was pledged from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide grants to Ottawa Riverkeeper, Sustainable Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Eco-Talent Network.
Each of the groups has a clear environmental mandate, with a focus of finding solutions for local ecological issues.

Another bear spotted within the city limits this weekend.
Gord Podolski was driving his wife to work around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday when they spotted a large black bear in a cornfield along Rideau Valley Drive, just outside Manotick.
After spotting a police cruiser nearby, Podolski said he told the officer about the bear.

A Montreal-based developer has shrunk its proposal to build a mammoth 32-storey residential tower in Sandy Hill to 18 storeys, but city staff, the community and the local councillor are still not happy.
Rio Vista Apartments first proposed to build the 32-storey tower in 2013 next to an existing high rise at 400 Stewart and immediately met community opposition.
