The planning committee will discuss the strategic initiatives that fall within
its portfolio at Tuesday’s meeting. Among them: Rideau Street streetscaping:
Improvements for Rideau Street between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street and
Nicholas Street between Rideau and Besserer Street to “improve the pedestrian
environment” and accommodate increased pedestrian activity expected as a result
of the LRT project and Rideau Centre expansion — $4.5 million in 2015* via
