OTTAWA — A short but nasty thunderstorm may have paused over the Ottawa-Gatineau area Sunday night, but the heavy rainfall that had earlier been predicted for the region over the next few days appears unlikely.
Early Sunday, Environment Canada maintained a rainfall advisory for much of the region, but particularly for Renfrew, Petawawa, Calabogie and other areas west and north of Ottawa. These communities were warned they could receive between 25 and 50 millimetres of rain from Sunday into Monday — a range that at the time was thought likely for Ottawa, as well.
