”These are a few of the comments posted on Facebook in response to a story I filed Tuesday night after attending a public meeting at the Glebe Community Centre.

The Coventry Road pedestrian and cycling bridge is officially under construction.
It will serve as a link between the VIA Rail train station and Vanier.
It will also be heated to keep the pathway and stairs free of ice and frost.Councillor Steve Clark said the bridge will serve as an important connection for people in his riding for whom transit options are now limited.

The city should reject a plan to transform a single-detached home in New Edinburgh into a six-unit apartment building, a planning department report says.
Built in 1950, the house at 455 Green Ave. is a one-and-a-half storey, single-detached home with a gable roof at the corner of Green and Beechwood avenues, within the Rockcliffe Park Heritage Conservation District HCD.

The decision to run shuttle buses down Lakeside Avenue emerged as a key concern Tuesday among some Glebe residents who attended a public meeting on the transportation plan for Lansdowne Park.
As part of its effort to encourage people not to drive to Ottawa Redblacks games and other major events at the new TD Place Stadium, the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group is offering a free park-and-shuttle service from four parking lots — Canada Post Riverside and Heron, Vincent Massey Park, the R.A. Centre and Carleton University.

OC Transpo is stepping up its safety plan after a review by the American Public Transportation Association APTA suggested there is more to be done.
Overall, the organization gave OC Transpo good marks for its commitment to safety by offering de-escalation training to drivers, and safe and night stop programs which allow riders to request an unofficial stop closer to their destination.

Wreaking havoc both on and off the highway, construction closures began Monday on the Lees Avenue bridge and on the section of the 417 that runs underneath it.
That has created confusion for drivers and major traffic tie-ups both east and west bound on the highway.
