OC Transpo riders say they feel safe despite bus assaults

September has yielded the most reported assaults on OC Transpo property so far this year, according to the city\'s tally.

Fourteen assaults were recorded by city staff in September, followed by 13 in August, and 12 in June.

Data was sorted into categories comparing harassment versus assaults, also pitting those occurring on platforms and stops against those on board.

With shovels in the ground for the first phase of Ottawa\'s light rail line, the city\'s Liberal MPPs met with Mayor Jim Watson Friday afternoon to talk about phase two. Achieving Balance, Ontario\'s Long-Term Energy Plan, takes a pragmatic approach that balances five principles: cost-effectiveness, reliability, clean energy, community engagement and, importantly, an emphasis on conservation and demand management before building new generation.

The Plan is the result of extensive consultation with the public and industry. One thing that was clear to us is that we need to ensure that our electricity remains affordable and competitive.

Hydro Ottawa wants to expand Chaudière Falls hydroelectric facility

TORONTO — Hydro Ottawa wants to expand its historic hydroelectric generating facility at Chaudière Falls.

The utility submitted an application Wednesday to the Ontario Power Authority that, if approved, would see its production capacity grow from 38 megawatts today to as high as 60 megawatts upon completion.

CFRA - Scott Street residents fuming over transit plans - News Talk Radio

Residents around Scott Street are extremely upset about new transit detour plans and they made their frustrations clear at a meeting Tuesday night.

The City is planning to re-route buses onto the busy artery for two years while the LRT is being built. The meeting was held to update locals on the plans and to get feedback from people living in the area. Councillors Katherine Hobbs and Diane Holmes were also at the meeting.
