The City has temporarily closed the Brookfield multi-use pathway in the city's south end as part of the O-Train expansion project.
Pedestrians and cyclists will instead use a detour along Heron Road.
The $59-million O-Train expansion will see the city twin the tracks to increase the frequency of the O-Train.

The city says it needs to do a better — and faster — job of notifying the public about boil-water advisories after it took three hours to issue such a notice in Carp recently.
On June 23, at approximately 10 a.m., a resident contacted West Carleton-March Coun. Eli El-Chantiry via Twitter to inquire about a sudden drop in water pressure. The councillor alerted city staff and was told a private contractor damaged a water main from the communal well that provides service to about 180 homes.

Ottawa Police from the East District teamed up with paramedics and city staff Friday to help teach dozens of kids in the Heatherington area more about bicycle safety.
Each kid that showed up was presented with a brand new helmet that was properly fitted by a police officer. Each also received a bike bell.

In his first foray into any level of politics, Silviu Riley will run for councillor in Somerset Ward in the Ottawa municipal election.
Riley, 26, is well travelled - he was born in Romania, moved to South Africa, then to Canada in 2000, all before his finished high school.

The city celebrated the heritage and history of the Ottawa River last week at Pinhey's Point Historic Site.
Today, it is the source of drinking water for millions living in Ottawa and Gatineau, and boasts several beaches for recreational use.
Boast is perhaps too strong a word, considering the number of times the nation's capital has been forced to shut down its popular swimming areas due to a rise in E. coli levels, caused by animal droppings washed into the water and rainfall, which causes sewage systems to overflow into the river.
