Metro News

By Lucy Scholey, Ottawa Metro News, September 13, 2015

After the "Geese Management Strategy" launched on Petrie Island, the city’s community and protective services committee asked staff to fix the problem at four goose-poop-filled parks along the Rideau River. The pilot project aimed to quell the highly populated, fiercely feathered animals (and their droppings).

Ottawa Citizen

By Jonathan McLeod, Ottawa Citizen, September 11, 2015

A skateboarder, Charlie died suddenly on March 3, and the new park would be named after him as a testament to his dedication to the community. The skatepark is also a testament to the city’s embrace of skateboarding, an unalloyed good.
