OTTAWA — Last weekend’s major upgrade to OC Transpo’s fare-card system went just about perfectly, says the man in charge of the Presto system, and only a few quirks remain to be fixed.
“I say that quite honestly that, to us, it was literally a perfect roll-through on the weekend,” said Robert Hollis, executive-vice president of the provincial Metrolinx transit agency. The weekend of work was preceded by 10 months of planning, then a weeklong freeze on ordering new cards online. Presto closed off online access to people’s accounts entirely on the weekend.
