The City of Gatineau has issued a boil water advisory for about 1,000 residents in the Limbour area.
The advisory is in place due to a water main break. Water service to several homes was temporarily cut off while crews worked to fix the issues.

The city is cracking down on drivers who fail to stop for school buses, whose lights are flashing and stop arms are deployed.
Cumberland Councillor Stephen Blais helped Safer Roads Ottawa launch their "I Stop, You Stop" Campaign Wednesday morning at Maple Ridge Elementary in Orleans.
The launch came just minutes after a close call just minutes before.

Pedestrians in Ottawa will soon have the right of way at more locations, now that the provincial government is loosening its reins.
Currently, pedestrian priority happens at a stop sign, traffic light, a pedestrian crossing and where a crossing guard is present.

OTTAWA — The windows are smashed and boarded up, pigeons and squirrels have made it their home for years, but the derelict buildings at Bayview Yards finally appear to be destined for a new life as an Innovation Centre if council approves a $30-million plan to transform the site.
The proposal is impressive: redevelop close to 46,000 square feet of old, empty factory space into a complex that will house budding entrepreneurs, new companies that need help getting to the next level of business, and more established firms. The city’s arm’s length economic-development agency, Invest Ottawa, also plans to move to the new complex.

I don't know why it is, and it could very well be that it's only happening to me, but almost daily I'm swerving to avoid losing either a tire or my life. Now, I realize City of Ottawa crews are busy doing this and that - I'm not sure what that is exactly, but they're doing it - so if someone is willing to hand me a shovel not too heavy, a couple of coffee gift cards and load my trunk up with some sand no rocks, I'll cruise around and fill the city's potholes.

OTTAWA — Maple sap isn’t flowing yet, but at Fulton’s Pancake House and Sugar Bush in Pakenham they say this is just back to the winters they used to know.
Maple sap in recent years is often running by early March, but this year we haven’t had the necessary string of warm days and freezing nights to make sap flow.

The cold weather has put a hold on the start of maple syrup season.
Normally sap would start trickling out of the tree at about this time, but it hasn't yet.
Scott Deugo at Fulton's Sugar Bush in Pakenham tells CTV Ottawa all they can do is wait.
Trees can't be tapped right now because it could split them in the process.

Back in November, the city organized a field trip for pols and the press to the Trail Road dump and the adjacent test site for Plasco’s plasma gasification technology. The dump tour was much more extensive, though the walkaround at Plasco was worthwhile, too.
The company’s new chief executive Raymond Floyd was on hand, though he stayed pretty much affably silent the whole time.

OTTAWA — More than a week after a three-by-three metre sinkhole opened up near the intersection of Waller Street and Laurier Avenue, the city is no closer to having any answers as to why the road collapsed.
The only explanation anyone has suggested for the sinkhole was that it was somehow caused by the tunnelling under Waller for the city’s light-rail project, but that has not been officially confirmed. Nor are there any answers as to whether it’s safe for Rideau Transit Group — the consortium building the LRT system — to continue to dig underground.
