The city’s planning committee approved a community design plan for the stretch of Rideau Street between King Edward Avenue and the Cummings Bridge on Nov. 24.
Many of the residents who spoke at the meeting said they would like to see a disputed development axed from the plan.
The proposal for a 14-storey tower at 560 Rideau St. awaits a decision by the Ontario Municipal Board following a challenge to the city’s approval by Action Sandy Hill.
