City receiving no assurances the LRT system will be fixed by fall

It could take the rest of the year to stabilize the Confederation Line, but the city is pressing the Rideau Transit Group to have the LRT system problem-free by the end of August, especially if workplaces across Ottawa begin reopening during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Michael Morgan, the city’s rail construction director, told city council Wednesday that RTG’s reluctance to be firm on a reliability date is “not sufficient” when it comes to answering a notice of default issued in March.
