The City of Ottawa will begin its new Kanata North mosquito control program Friday.The program, which was approved by council in February and is expected to cost around $1.5 million, will continue throughout the summer and is expected to end on Sept. 15.
The program is aimed an controlling the number of mosquito larvae in wetlands so they won’t hatch. No part of the program involves killing live mosquitoes.
