It’s going to be hard for council’s most vocal critics to condemn the city’s $3.26-billion draft budget for 2017.
And that’s exactly how Mayor Jim Watson likes it.
The two biggest requests from social service advocates were included in the 2017 estimates tabled Wednesday. There will be money to provide a transit pass for low-income residents and the city is willing to give more money to social service agencies.
