Nearly eight in 10 regular users of the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway oppose the idea of reducing the western portion of the road from four lanes to two as part of the National Capital Commission’s long-term vision for a nine-kilometre linear park along the Ottawa River.
The finding comes from an NCC telephone survey last spring of 1,174 Ottawa residents who live west of Island Park Drive and regularly or frequently travel on the parkway.
