High E.coli count prompts red flag for Petrie Island East Bay beach

If you were thinking of hitting Petrie Island East Bay beach today to beat the heat, don’t.

The City of Ottawa issued its first no-swim advisory for the season for the facility, as the temps are expected to rise to 28 C, or 32 C with the humidity factored in.

Samples taken at the beach measured 529 E. coli particles per 100 ml of water, according to information on the city’s website.
