Queen’s Park recently unveiled its climate change plan, so the real complaining can start. Despite the large number of people who see no need for change, I hope that the debate will occasionally touch on some facts.
Our province runs (literally and figuratively) on fossil fuels. Ontario’s 7.7 million registered passenger cars combust 13 billion litres of gasoline each year and emit 30 million tonnes of greenhouse gases (GHGs). Add the tailpipe impact from trucks, trains, boats and planes, and it is clear why the “status quo” in transportation is a danger to our environmental future.http://ottawacitizen.com/opinion/columnists/eggertson-some-electrifying-facts-about-kathleen-wynnes-climate-plan
