It was clear that Ottawa had a problem when it emerged the city has been unable to ticket out-of-province red-light runners. Now, we know the scope of that problem: Nearly 5,000 people should have received tickets in 2015 but got off scot-free.
And, the revenue the city has missed out on totals more than $1.5 million. If you run a red light, you should have to pay the ticket. It’s as simple as that.
