Strategic voting activists rally in last effort to oust Conservatives

In this final weekend of campaigning, proponents of strategic voting across Canada are out in full force in a last attempt to keep Stephen Harper and his fellow Conservatives out of power.

Anirt Rojo, a volunteer with Nepean Leadnow Group, is one Ottawa resident eager to keep her local Conservative candidate, Andy Wang, from winning the riding. This weekend, she will be helping with canvassing and talking to people in her area about strategic voting — the practice of voting not in the way most likely to get someone you support elected, but in the way most likely to get someone you don’t defeated.

And on election day, another local group, Ecology Ottawa, will be doing get-out-the-vote by phone and foot all day.
