Water levels at a popular swimming hole in Rockcliffe Park have fallen sharply,
and city officials say there’s not much anyone can do except wait for next year
and pray for rain. Or for snow. McKay Pond usually benefits from melting snow,
but this year the spring run-off was a trickle and the pond has been low ever
since. Across Eastern Ontario, a cool March changed much of the snow into water
vapour, not meltwater. via
