All Ottawa beaches are off-limits for swimming for Thursday at least. Ottawa
Public Health has put out the advisory because of the heavy rain on Canada Day.
Rain can wash bacteria into the water, and it takes up to 24 hours to do the lab
test showing how high bacterial levels are, so it’s common to issue a
no-swimming advisory after heavy rain rather than waiting for the lab via
