The city’s environment committee endorsed a plan Tuesday to develop a new
approach to billing for water and sewer services in Ottawa that is intended to
be, in words of chair David Chernushenko, “fair, equitable and financially
sustainable.” A new billing model is needed because the current one — which
bills customers a single rate based on the volume of water consumed — is
essentially broken. via
