Six years and two terms after Ottawa’s city council approved the plan, the
federal government Tuesday pledged the last portion of funding to complete the
final and most ambitious element of a multi-layered project to clean up the
river. However, the amount of the funding was less than expected — $62.09
million instead of $65 million — while the total cost of the project has quietly
risen from an estimated $195 million in 2013 to $231.3 million. via
