As one of the coldest winters draws to an end, some maple syrup producers in
Ontario are worried about the effect the harsh season could have on production
but local sugar shacks are shrugging off the concerns, saying it depends what
spring brigns. "We've had some very strange, warm winters over the last few
years and people started thinking that was the norm," said Shirley Fulton-Deugo,
owner of Fulton's, a sugar bush and pancake house in Pakenham. via
