It’s always easy to complain about rising prices. In some cases, the grumbling
is even justified. Take OC Transpo fares, which are set to rise an average of
2.5 per cent in the current draft budget is passed. While city-to-city fare
comparisons aren’t exact, as each municipality has its own unique price
schedule, there’s still an argument to be made that Ottawa’s basic fares are
among the highest in the country, especially when you exclude Toronto (although
even in Toronto, the single cash fare is lower than Ottawa’s, and kids ride for
free). via
