A 600-metre portion of the Carp River is scheduled for rehabilitation thanks to
funding from the City of Ottawa and Ducks Unlimited. The natural functioning of
the waterway between Hazeldean Road and Carp has “experienced significant
negative impacts from historical straightening and loss of wetlands in its
floodplain,” said the city in the motion passed on Dec. 10. The rehabilitation
project will see the city and Ducks Unlimited split the $500,000 cost down the
middle to create four ponds along the Carp River. via
