An open-house discussion with TransCanada Ltd. on the proposed Energy East oil
pipeline project will take place in Kemptville on Tuesday night. The proposed
$12-billion Energy East oil pipeline will see TransCanada retrofit its underused
3,000-kilometre Canadian Mainline natural gas pipeline, which runs through the
region, so it can carry crude oil from Alberta’s oilsands to refineries on
Canada’s east coast. As much as 1.1 million barrels of oil are expected to flow
through the pipeline daily. via
