Ottawa Votes: Jim Watson’s nightmare slate

Jim Watson faces little opposition in keeping his job as mayor, but after the Oct. 27 election he might face a less friendly council than the one he’s been used to leading. Starting in 2010, he benefitted from a group with few ideological outliers and a whole lot of political newbies, people who looked to him for leadership. This fall, there are challengers — some more likely to win than others, but all of them running legit campaigns — who could make Watson’s life a whole lot a lot less pleasant for the next four years if they take council seats. via Ottawa Votes: Jim Watson’s nightmare slate | Ottawa Citizen.
