Re: Q and A: OSEG transportation demand manager Hassan Madhoun, July 17. Can somebody please explain why so little has been spent on improving pedestrian and cycling access to the new Lansdowne Park? The city and Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group say they want people to walk and bike to the park, but so far they’ve only spent $60,000 for a safe pedestrian crossing of Queen Elizabeth Drive and maybe $500 for bike “sharrows” on the Bank Street bridge. Yet they had no problem spending about $300 million on the site itself. Appalling. via Letter: Improve access for walking, cycling to Lansdowne | Ottawa Citizen.
