The provincial Liberals' re-introduction of its budget Monday gave Mayor Jim
Watson the opportunity to emphasize the importance of cleaning the Ottawa River.
Four out of the five city beaches were closed Monday because of high bacterial
levels. The river swallowed 6.5 million litres of diluted sewage from Ottawa's
