The Village of Westport has pumped 24 million litres of sewage into Upper Rideau
Lake and now finds itself knee-deep in emergency plans. The village’s sewage
treatment system hasn’t worked in two to three years, and in April it had to
empty the over-full sewage lagoons or risk having an uncontrolled flood. via
