When the Community Foundation of Ottawa was looking for a project with impact,
it decided to hold a competition for the best idea on to make fresh food
available inexpensively. The competition is called the New Leaf Community
Challenge, a $125,000 grant for the non-profit group that comes up with the most
innovative project to improve the availability of nourishing, affordable food in
the city. The three finalists in the challenge will face a Dragon’s Den-type
grilling before the winning project is chosen. via
