More than 1,000 homeowners have rejected the city's efforts to install high-tech
water meter readers, but no bylaw charges have been laid. The city says there
have been roughly 1,165 locations where homeowners initially refused the
mandatory installations or didn't respond to appointment requests. Staff have
resolved several cases, bringing the outstanding number down to 899. via
