Ottawa's notorious "Swantanomo Bay" might be closer to shuttering now that a proposal for a better bird coop has been given new wings. The City of Ottawa has always wanted to build a new winter home for its royal swans at the Nepean equestrian park, but with the city ending its lease with the National Capital Commission in 2012, so ended the hopes of giving the birds improved off-season digs. via $20M equestrian plan could give royal swans winter digs | Ottawa & Region | News.
