Millions of litres of diluted raw sewage have been spilling into the Ottawa
river in the past week, underscoring the need for a $195-million guck-capturing
tunnel. The city recorded a sewer overflow last Wednesday when more than 78
million litres dumped into the river. Heavy rainfall is cited as the cause.
