A pedestrian marker now overlooks the downtown Ottawa intersection where a
26-year-old woman was hit and killed earlier this year. City councillors and
safety advocates hope the marker, erected on Wednesday at the intersection of
Rideau and Waller streets, does more than just memorialize the spot where Yvonne
Hendrikx, 26, was hit and killed by a large truck on Feb. 21. via
