If you hit a cyclist getting out of your car, be prepared to pay more for it.
Under proposed new Ontario legislation introduced this week, fines for dooring —
opening a car door into the path of an oncoming cyclist — could go up to as much
as $1,000. Cycling advocates say although getting hit by a car door is a major
worry, hitting people in the pocketbook is probably not enough to stop it from
